Instructor Bio:
Tracie has been a Registered Massage Therapist practicing in London for over 16 years and an educator at the college level for over 14 years. Tracie obtained a degree in Health Science from Western University in 2007 and obtained her massage therapy diploma from Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2008.
Tracie’s passion for fascia began during her time at Sutherland Chan, which was then ignited by a 1 year Structural Integration program, deepened by many workshops run by Tom Myers of Anatomy Trains, and catapulted by her Craniosacral Level 1 and 2 training from the Upledger Institute.
Today, Tracie’s personal practice is led by fascia. Her treatment approach allows fascia to guide treatment with the belief that acuity of palpation within the fascial system improves client outcomes through physical attunement, use of interoception, and tuning into the mechanisms by which fascia operates.
Tracie encourages her students to listen with their hands, and that when it comes to pressure, less is more.
Tracie has devoted much of her time deepening her understanding of fascia and loves to guide others through the literal and figurative web that is fascia. She is always happy to start a fascial conversation or help others gain a deeper understanding of fascia.

Course Description:
Irrespective of etiology (e.g. surgery, burn, accident), collagen remodeling (scar tissue) ‘constructs’ us
back together when tissue integrity has been interrupted. If the wound healing/scar formation process
goes askew, problematic/pathophysiological scars can form. Using the STAR critical thinking approach
(Situation, Task, Action, Results) we will dive into what influences the outcome (functional vs
problematic scarring) and how early massage/manual therapy intervention can temper/prevent
problematic scarring and how to facilitate meaningful changes in mature problematic scar presentations.
As we are more than a pair of hands, the importance and value of therapeutic alliance (our soft-skills)
will be an integral component in this course. Science/evidence is my jam, so there will be science …. and
a healthy dose of heart, humour and hands-on!
